Farrisbru

Farrisbrua is situated on the E18 as part of the parcel for the new E18 between Bommestad and Sky in the municipality of Larvik (NORWAY). The E18 will be constructed as a four-lane motorway. The Farrisbrua is a pre-stressed concrete bridge with a total length of 569 m. The main span between axis 6 and 7 is constructed as a cable-stayed bridge (cross section steel twin-box girder). It consits of 9 spans. The construction is made by means of the following procedures: Movable shoring system for production of axis 1-6 by LGB Cable-stayed bridge (between axis 6and 7) / supported by two towers 75m using a monolithic cross beam. Standard falsework for the production of axis 7-10 by LGB The superstructure is of twin-box girder type. The cross section height amounts to 3,0 m. The width of the deck salb amounts to roughly 27 m. In the plan view the bridge has a circular arc (R~ 765m) For the production of the brige between axis 1-6 two separate MSS systems are used. Each system (one per trough) consists of two lattice girders + formwork cross beams.  The MSS is supported on pillar trestles and on center trestles. The maximum span length of the MSS in concreting state is 32m.
